Question
Answer
Is This Detector Intrinsically Safe?   No, Some gases which this instrument can detect may be combustible/flammable. This instrument is designed to alarm at concentrations that are lower than the explosive limit of the gas
🗑
How long does Battery operation last   8-12 hrs
🗑
How long is the meters warm up time   5 minutes, Green light flashes during warm up, goes steady once finished
🗑
What is the measuring range for all gases?   0 - 10,000 ppm
🗑
What is the technology that is uses?   Non-Dispersive Infrared.
🗑
What is the response time of the meter to get readings?   -90% of response within 5 secs -100% in 7 seconds
🗑
how accurate are the readings?   + or - 1ppm, + or - 10% of reading from 0 - 10,000ppm
🗑
What is the Low Alarm set to?   50 ppm , audible alarm
🗑
What is the High Alarm set to?   1,000 ppm, audible and visual red light alarm
🗑
Can the Alarm be silenced?   Yes, Press silence button, alarm is silenced for 5 min, if levels remain above set limits alarm will sound again
🗑
How do you check the Battery Life?   The battery is always on, the green button on the battery must be pressed for 5 secs, then view the reading on the LCD screen
🗑
Which setting do you uses for unknown releases?   R22 - This is the one of least sensitive Halogen in library, so it will over report other halogen combinations
🗑
What does a Yellow light indicate?   There is Fault with the meter. (Find fault codes by clicking FUNCTION / FAULTS) and view code, there is an external list of correctable codes that can be fixed in the field, the last 30 faults can be read on the meter.
🗑
Whats the max length for the gas sampling line?   50 feet
🗑
Whats the increase in the meter's response time for an extended sampling line?   1 sec for every foot of hose
🗑
What position should the meter be operated in?   Use meter in its horizontal position (handle facing upwards). Tilting the meter to a vertical position while in operation may cause inaccurate readings
🗑
What does this meter detect?   Detects gases with Halogen Carbon Bonds not just halogens alone
🗑
What is significant to Gases assigned a R number?   When used in a closed system a rupture may cause O2 displacement
🗑
How many refrigerants are listed in the meters library   40 most commonly used refrigerants
🗑
How does Non-Dispersive Infrared technology work   IR light goes into the sample chamber. There is an optical filter before the detector that eliminates light to look at a pre-measured wavelength of that gas. the absorbed light is compared to the selected gas and the concentration is derived from the diff
🗑
How can you determine what type of gas is leaking   obtain a SDS sheet from the facility or any info from the cylinder that's leaking and look for synonyms for the gas involved that may be in the library
🗑
What are some common refrigerants this meter won't detect and why?   -Chlorine, Bromine, Fluorine, Ammonia, Sulfur Dioxide, LPG - They do not have Halogen-Carbon bonds
🗑
How does the Zero Air filter work?   -scrubs air through a carbon filter to ensure accurate readings -self zeros every 4 min -auto purges every 6-8 min -replace filter after 4hrs of 10,000 ppm exposure and yearly
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.
