What is meant when we say that a substance dissolves?   When a substance dissolves the solvent has broken down the substance and it is no longer a single piece.

Give the definition for solution.   A solution is a mixture of a solute and a solvent.

Give the definition for a solute and solvent.   A solute is something which gets dissolved. A solvent is something that does the dissolving.

What is meant by soluble and insoluble?   Soluble means it can be dissolved. Insoluble mean it cannot be dissolved.

What is a suspension?   A suspension is when the solids are not dissolved but just floating in the solvent.

What is meant by the terms concentrated and dilute?   Concentrate is when there is an large amount of the Solute in the solution and dilute is when there is a very small amount of solute in the solution.

What is a saturated solution?   A saturated solution is one where the solvent cannot dissolve many more solid solute.

Define crystallisation.   Crystalisation is the forming of a crystalline solid from an over saturated solution.
