Periodic Table   a list that shows the chemical elements arranged according to their properties

Groups/Family   a vertical column on the periodic table

Periods   name given to a horizontal row of the periodic table

Electrons   subatomic particle with a negative charge and located outside the nucleus

Element   composed of one kind of atom that have the same atomic number

Metals   An element below and to the left of the stair-step line of metalloids; about 80% of the known elements are metals.

Non-Metals   An element above and to the right of the stair-step line of metalloids. Are not able to conduct electricity or heat very well.

Metalloids   An element with properties of both metals and nonmetals located along the stair-step line on the right side of the periodic table.

Ductile   the ability to be stretched into a thin wire  
🗑
Malleable   the ability to be hammered into a thin sheet  
🗑
Insulator   a material that allows little or no heat, electricity or sound to go into or out of something

Conductor   A material that let electrical currents to pass through

endothermic reaction   A chemical reaction in which heat energy is absorbed.

exothermic reaction   A chemical reaction in which heat energy is given off.

To hide a column, click on the column name.
