Term
Definition
monomial   a number, a variable, or a product of a number and one or more variables with whole number exponents
🗑
degree of a monomial   the sum of the exponents of the variables in a monomial
🗑
polynomial   a monomial or a sum of monomials; each monomial is called a term of the polynomial
🗑
binomial   a polynomial with two terms
🗑
trinomial   a polynomial with three terms
🗑
degree of a polynomial   the greatest degree of the terms of a polynomial
🗑
FOIL method   a shortcut for multiplying two binomials
🗑
factored form   a polynomial is in factored form when it is written as a product of factors
🗑
zero-product property   if the product of two real numbers is 0, then at least one of the numbers is 0
🗑
roots   the solutions of a polynomial equation
🗑
factoring by grouping   to factor polynomials with four terms, group the terms into pairs, factor the GCF out of each pair for the terms, and look for a common binomial factor
🗑
prime polynomial   a polynomial that cannot be factored as a product of polynomials with integer coefficients
🗑
factored completely   a factorable polynomial with integer coefficients is said to be factored completely when no more factors can be found and it is written as the product of prime factors
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
