Definition
division   The process of separating a number into equal groups to find a quotient. Repeated subtraction of numbers.

quotient   The result of a number being divided. The answer to a division problem.

divisor   The number by which the divididend is to be divided. The number of groups the dividend is to be separated.

dividend   A number to be divided by the divisor.

remainder   The left over amount in a division problem.

compatible numbers   Numbers that work together well and can be calculated easily mentally.
