diatomic molecule | A molecule composed of two atoms of the same element.

halogen family | Elements in family or group #17 in the periodic table. They are the most reactive group of nonmetals in the table.

metalloid/semimetal | An element that has some properties of metals and some properties of nonmetals.

noble gas/inert gas | An element in family or group 18 of the periodic table. They are very non-reactive.
