chemical formula   a representation of a molecule in which the elements are represented by their symbols.

Chemical equation   a representation of a chemical reaction by symbols and number.

Chemical change   a change when a substance combines with another to form a new substance that can not be reversed.

Physical change   a change in which the mixtures can be reversed. It does not change their chemical composition.

Subscript   a number that is smaller than the normal line and sets below it. This number tells us the number of atoms a particular element has.

Coefficient   The big number that is at the beginning of a chemical formula. ex) 2CHO

Product   a chemical substance that is formed as a result of a chemical reaction.

Reactant   a substance participating in a chemical reaction, especially one present at the start of the reaction.
