Statistic | a numerical measurement describing some characteristic of a sample

Quantitative Data | It is also known as numerical data; consists of numbers representing counts or measurements. Ex: ages of respondents or weights of supermodels

Categorical Data | It is also known as qualitative or attribute data. Consists of names or labels (representing categories). Ex: gender or professional athletes or numbers on jerseys.

Discrete Data | Result when the number of a possible values is either a finite number or a 'countable' number. Ex: the number of eggs that a hen lays.

Continuous Data | It is also known as numerical data. Result from infinitely many possible values that correspond to some continous scale that covers range of values without gaps, interruptions, or jumps. Ex: The amount of mile that a cow produces; e.g. 2.32413425.
