How to guide to maths

Quiz yourself by thinking what should be in each of the black spaces below before clicking on it to display the answer.

Area   Multiply the length by the width

Perimeter   Add all the sides together

Mode   Find the most common number

Mean or Average   Add all the numbers together and divide by how many numbers you had.

Median   Line the numbers up in order and find the middle number.

Range   Take the lowest number from the highest

Diameter   Measure from one side of the circle to the other

Radius   Measure from the middle of the circle to the side

Area of a circle   Find the radius: multiply it by itself then multiply your answer by pi (3.14)

Circumference   Find the Diameter and multiply by pi (3.14)

Finding a percentage of an amount   Divide the number by 100 to find 1% and then multiply this by the percentage given

Identifying the percentage ie 20 out of 25 as a percent.   Write this as a fraction 20/25. Divide the first number by the second and multiply by 100
