Cross-section   A plane figure obtained by slicing a solid with a plane.

Supplementary Angle   Two angles whose sum is 180 degrees.

Vertical Angles   Two nonadjacent angles formed by intersecting lines or segments. Also called opposite angles.

Probability   The chance that an event will occur expressed as a number between 0 and 1.

Sample space   A set of all possible outcomes for an event or combination of events.

Simple Event   Any event which consists of a single outcome in the sample space.

Simulation   A model used to answer questions where chance is involved.

Theoretical Probability   The likeliness of an event happening based on all the possible outcomes.

Tree diagram   A visual model that sequentially lists all possible outcomes for an event.

Compound Event   A combination of more than one simple event.

Experimental Probability   The probability of an event occurring when an experiment was conducted.
