confounding variable   a variable (that we may or may not have measured) other than the predictor/independent variables in which we’re interested that potentially affects an outcome/dependent variable’. In other words, it’s a variable that is related to the outcome we are in

Systematic variation   a variation in an experimental outcome that is due to the experimenters’ manipulation
🗑
Unsystematic variation   the variation in outcome due to random (and often unknown) factors (e.g., change in the dependent variable brought about by something other than changes in the independent variable).
🗑
Unsystematic vs systematic variation   The difference between these two types of variance is very important for statistical analysis because what we try to do with most statistical tests is to calculate the total amount of variance in our outcome variable and then figure out how much of it i

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
