Question
Answer
Additive Identity   When you add 0, Example: 6+0=6
🗑
Multiplicative Identity   When you Multiply by 1, Example: 5(1)= 5
🗑
Multiplicative property of zero   When you Multiply by 0. Example: 9(0)= 0
🗑
Multiplicative Inverse   When you multiply fractions and they equal 1, (reciprocal being multiplied =1) Example: (5/3)(3/5)=1
🗑
Reflexive   When both things on each side of the equal sign are EXACTLY the SAME. Example: 2+3 = 2+3
🗑
Substitution   When math is done to simplify a math expression. Example: 2(6+3) = 2(9)
🗑
Synmmetric   IF the 1st is equal to the 2nd THEN the 2nd is equal to the 1st. Example: IF 6+3 = 9 THEN 9 = 6+3
🗑
Transitive   If the 1st is equal to the 2nd AND the 2nd is equal to the 3rd THEN the 1st is equal to the 3rd. Example: IF 4+2=6, AND 6=2(3), THEN 4+2=2(3)
🗑
Commutative Property   When the order that add or multiply does not change answer. Hint Stuff changes Order Examples: 2+3 = 3+2, OR 5(4) = 4(5) OR (4+5)+2 = (5+4)+2
🗑
Associative Property   When the way numbers are grouped does not change the sum or product. Hint (braces) change places Examples: (2+3)+4 = 2+(3+4) OR (4*5)*2 = 4*(5*2)
🗑
Distributive Property   When you multiply each part of the stuff in the parenthesis by what is on out side of parenthesis. Examples: 2(3+4) = 2(3) +2(4) = 6 + 8 = 14 OR 6(x+3) = 6(x) +6(3) = 6x + 18
🗑
Additive Inverse   When two numbers are add or subtracted and they equal zero, Example: 5+(-5)=0, OR 6-6=0
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
