Lymphatic System

antigen a chemical compound attached to a cell surface which if not recognized by the lymphatic system, will trigger immune response
autoimmunity an attack on body tissue and organs that are normally recognized as "self"
B-Cell lymphocyte that attacks foreign antigens by producing antibodies
Chemical Barriers a barrier that consists of enzymes in body fluids that are lethal to pathogens
fever a defense that reduces iron in the blood, reducinggrowth and production of bacteria and fungi, increases actions of phagocytes
immunity adaptive mechanism that targets specific pathogens when present in the body through the use of specialized lymphoctyes
