Arterio artery

Aorta the largest artery in the body - comes directly off the heart
Erythrocytes red blood cells
Endocardium the lining of the heart
Venae Cavae the large veins that return blood to the heart
Atria the upper chambers of the heart
Cardiomegaly abnormal enlargement of the heart. Cardio = heart. Megaly = enlarged
Aneurysm a balloon-like enlargement of an artery wall
Myocardial infarction common term for heart attack
Phlebitis inflammation of a vein.
Embolus a foreign object circulating in the blood that obstructs a blood vessel. Examples include air or a detached blood clot.
