Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) (1974) provides great flexibility for communities to use these federal funds for the improvement of blighted areas. Creates Section 8.
Urban Development Action Grant Program (UDAG) 1977. Leveraging public/private funds. Cuts 701 funding
HOME program (Nat'l Affordable Housing Act of 1990) Provides funds for housing rehab
HOPE IV funds for redev of distressed public housing. Allow for demo/recon of new public housing. Result = deconcentration of public housing.1) physical improvements, 2) management improvements, and 3)social and community services to address resident needs.
