What is quilting? In quilting you sandwich wadding in between two pieces of fabric and sew through all three layers.
What is wadding? Wadding is the soft fibrous material used for padding when doing quilting.
What is a hem? This is the edge of a piece of cloth that is turned under and sewn to give it a neat finish.
What is a seam allowance? This is the distance between the edge and the stitching line on a seam.
How do we gather fabric? We stitch two lines of stitching in a large stitch size at 1cm and 2cm from the edge. We then securely fasten the threads at one end and pull up the threads at the other end until the gathering is the desired width.
