Term: kiteDefinition: A kite is a shape with two pairs of adjacent (touching), congruent (equal-length) sides.
Term: common multiple (LCM)Definition: the smallest multiple (other than 0) that two or more numbers have in common. Example: What is the LCM of 2 and 5? Multiples of 2 = 2, 4, 6 ,8 , 10, 12. Multiples of 5 = 5, 10, LCM is 10
Term: multipleDefinition: the product (answer) of a given whole multiplied by another whole number. Example: 1x4=4 2x4=8 3x4=12 4, 8 and 12 are multiples of 4.
Term: expressionDefinition: a mathematical phrase that contains numbers and . Examples: 3(2+6) (3x2) + (3x6) 4 - 3 x 1/2
Term: Definition: a four-sided figure with opposite sides and equal in length.
Term: relatively numbersDefinition: two numbers that do not have any common factors other than 1. Example: 12 and 13 are prime numbers. The only factor they have in common is 1.
Term: trapezoidDefinition: a quadrilateral with only one pair of sides
Term: variableDefinition: A symbol for a we don't know yet. It is usually a letter like x or y. Example: in x + 2 = 6, x is the variable.
