Smooth muscle | No striation and is involuntary, and cannot consciously be controlled |
Cardiac muscle | Found in only one place in the body which is the heart, it is striated and involuntary |
Skeletal muscle | Are striated and is a voluntary muscle, which is the only muscle you can consciously control |
Tendons | Attach muscles indirectly to bones, cartilage or connective tissue covering to each other |
Myosin | Split ATP to generate the power for muscle contraction |
Thick filaments | Composed of bundles of myosin/protein |
Thin filaments | Are composed of contractile protein called actin |
Muscle tone | The state of continuous partial contraction |
Muscle fatigue | When muscle is unable to contract even though it is still being stimulated. |
Orbicularis Oculi | has fibers that run in circles around eyes, it allows you to close your eyes, squint, blink and wink. |
