Word | Deffinition |
Eye | The sense organ that gathers and focus's light and generates signals that are sent to the brain. |
Retina | The light sensetive inner layer. |
Rods | produce black and white vision. |
cones | produce color vision. |
optic nerve | extends from the back of the eye to the part of the brain that processes light. |
blind spot | where the optic nerve meets the retina. |
lens | changes shape to focus the light on the retina. |
ear | sense organ that functions in hearing. |
eardrum | membrane that transmits sound waves from outer ear to middle ear. |
middle ear | has three tiny bones the hammer, the anvil and the stirrup. |
inner ear | contains the liquid-filled semicircular canals. |
cochlea | coiled, fluid filled tube. |
auditory nerve | receptors fro the cochlea to the temporal lobe. |
eustachian tube | connects the middle ear to the throat. |
