Question | Answer |
cell wall | a rigid non-living material surrounding the cell wall. The cell wall helps protect and support the cell |
cell membrane | A cell structure that controls which substances can enter or leave the cell. |
nucleus | The nucleus is the cells control center. The chromatin in the nucleus contains instructions for carrying out the cells activities. it directs all of the cell activities. |
cytoplasm | the region between the cell membrane and the nucleus. it has clear gel like fluids that are constantly moving. |
mitochondria | mitochondria converts energy in food molecules to energy the cell can use to carry out it functions. |
endoplasmic reticulum | it carries proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to another |
ribosome | Ribosomes are attached to some surfaces of the endoplasmic reticulum. Ribosomes function as factories to produce proteins. |
golgi body | golgi bodies recieve protiens and other newly formed materials package them and distribute them to other parts of the cell. |
chloroplasts | chloroplasts can be found floating in the cytoplasm. they capture energy from sunlight and us it to produce food for the cell. |
vacuoles | vacuoles can be found floating in the cytoplasm, they are storage areas of the cell. |
lysosomes | they are small, round structures containing chemicals that break down large food particles into smaller ones. |
