cardiomyopathy | condition of deterioration of the heart muscle |
angina pectoris | chest pain and pressure caused by insufficient blood and oxygen supply to the heart |
cardiac tamponade | heart becomes compressed from excess collection of fluid in the pericardial sac. Causes the heart to have limited function. |
coronary artery disease | narrowing of the vessels of the heart due to arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis |
atrial fibrillation | uneven rhythm and impulse of the mycardial cells within the atria |
hypertension | elevated blood pressure - generally considered to be above 140/90 on several occations |
