Atomic Number | Used to identify the atom/element. Represents the number of protons in that atom. |
ATOM | The smallest unit of all matter. |
Proton | The positively charged particles found in the nucleus. |
Period | The name given to the rows of the periodic table. |
Electron Cloud | The region around the nucleus of the atom made up of mostly empty space and electrons. |
Products | In a chemical equation, these represent what is produced during the reaction. |
Electron | These are gained, lost, or shared when chemically combining with another atom. |
Ion | Atype of atom created when electrons are lost or gained. Makes the atom charged. |
Neutral | The overall charge of an atom of the periodic table. |
Neutrons | These subatomic particles are found by subtracting the atomic number from the atomic mass. |
