Question | Answer |
Scientific Method | The process of observing, inferring, predicting, observing, classifying and making models |
Observation | Using one or more of your senses to gether information |
Qualitative Observation | Deals with descriptions (senses; touch, taste, hear, smell, see) |
Quantitative Observations | dealing with numbers, measurements and tools |
Inference | When you explain or interpret the things you observe |
Prediction | A guess of what will happen in the future |
Variables | Factors that can change in an experiment |
Manipulated Variable | Puposely changed to test your hypthesis, only 1 |
Responding Variable | A factor that may change in response to the manipulated variable |
Controlled Variable | A variable that is not changed |
Hypothesis | A possible explanation for a set of observationsor answer to a scientific question |
Data Tables | A chart to organize facts, figures, and other evidence gathered through observations |
Bar Graphs | Represent things being compared |
Line Graphs | Show change over time |
Conclusion | A summary of what was learned from the experiment. Analazing data, making interpretations and explaining what happened in the exeriment. |
