Term | Definition |
wetland | a land area covered by water at least part of the year, usually serve as drainage areas Ex: Everglades, Okefenokee Swamp, Mississippi River delta or Altamaha River delta |
freshwater biomes | Large areas of water that have no salt or very little salt Ex: streams and rivers, lakes and ponds, and wetlands or swamps |
climate | long-term weather pattern in a particular area Typically, temperature and rainfall are used to determine climate. |
aquatic biomes | areas of water having similar characteristics based on the amount of salt, temperature, and movement of the water in the environment |
habitat | specific environment that provides all the resources an organism needs to live and survive |
