Term | Definition |
Viscosity | A measure of a liquid's resistance to gradual deformation by shear stress or tensile stress. For liquids, it corresponds to the informal concept of "thickness". |
Repel | To be resistant to; be incapable of absorbing or mixing with. |
Liquid | A nearly in compressible fluid that conforms to the shape of its container but retains a (nearly) constant volume independent of pressure. |
Layer | A sheet, quantity, or thickness of material, typically one of several, covering a surface or body. |
Oil | An oil is any neutral, non polar chemical substance that is a viscous liquid at ambient temperatures and is both hydrophobic (immiscible with water, literally "water fearing") and lipophilic (miscible with other oils, literally "fat loving"). |
Miscibility | The property of substances to mix in all proportions, forming a homogeneous solution. |
Column | Something resembling a column in form, position, or function; I.E. a column of water. |
