Term | Definition |
Chemical property | A quality or characteristic of an item that has a reaction with a chemical, or has changed throughout testing |
Physical property | A property that can be observed with the five senses as it changes. |
Toxic / toxicity | Materials that can be fatal if came into contact with by a living thing. |
Reacts / reaction | To respond to something after it happens in a certain way. |
Density | How compact an object is, density can be found by doing the equation mass/volume=density. The unit is normally g/cm3 or g/mL. |
Mass | Another word for weight, it can be easily calculated by doing density(volume). |
Volume | The amount of space an object takes up. It can easily be found doing mass/ density=volume |
Quantitive data | Data that is measured in quantities, it uses numbers to be measured. |
Conduct | To produce or organize certain things, may have a reaction. Some examples would if a light bulb is screwed in and doesn’t light up it may not conduct electricity. |
Transparent | An object that easily allows light to pass through, the light can then be seen from the other side. |
Translucent | An object that allows light to pass through, but may to be a clear image from the other side. |
Opaque | Not allowing light through, can not be seen through. |
Hazardous material | A substance or material that may be unsafe to anything living, chemicals and others alike chemicals are considered hazardous material. |
