Input | What your senses provide you with, seeing, hearing, feeling. Everything that is going on around you. Perceiving the situation |
Display | The environment that provides all the information for the senses |
Translatory mechanism | Puts into action the decision from perception |
Perception | The process of acquiring interpretation, selecting and organising the information |
Detection, Comparison and Recognition (DCR)process | Part of perception: Involves detecting the stimulus, comparing that stimulus to information stored in the memory and recognising and identifying that stimulus |
Selective attention | Filters irrelevant information and selects relevant information Receives information from the short term sensory store Passes information to the short term memory |
Effector mechanisms | The process that causes the muscles to move to produce the movement required for the action to be carried out |
Feedback | Received from internal (muscles joints) and external (how successful the action was) sources on the result and any modifications that are required |
