What causes the doppler effect | it is cause when a high pitch sound is heard from two places |
What causes a sonic boom | when a shock wave releases a huge amount of energy. people nearby hear a loud noise that is a sonic boom and that is how a sonic boom is caused |
Fundamental Tone | lowest natural frequency of an object. |
overtone | objects higher natural frequency |
Acoustics | study of how sound interacts with each other and its environment |
Reverberation | when sound reflects back and forth off a hard surfaces |
Ear Canal | narrow region |
Ear Drum | small tightly stretched drum like membrane |
Cochlea | fluid filled cavity that has the shape of a snail shell |
Echolocation | use of reflected sound wave that determine distance to locate objects |
Sonar | system that uses reflected sound waves to dectect objects under water |
Sonogram | uses ultra sound waves to creat an image |
