AG Craniofacial Syndromes

long "spidery" fingers and/or toes, disproportionately long in relation to the hand or foot arachnodactyly
fingers or toes which are disproportionately short in relatin to the hands or foot brachydactyly
curved fingers clinodactyly
a cleft, usually with reference to the eyes, and in particular to the iris, retina and optic nerve coloboma
premature fusion of the cranial bones which are usually separated by small spaces known as sutures craniosynostosis
bulging eyes, or eyes which protrude beyond the orbital walls exorbitism
eyes which are spaced too far apart compared to established norms hypertelorism
small or rudimentary fingers or toes hypodactyly
eyes which are too close together. Often associated with brain malformation hypotelorism
an abnormally large head related to excessive brain size macrencephaly
an abnormally large head unrelated to excessive brain size, but rather to hydrocephalus or excessively thick skull bones macrocephaly
an excessively large tongue macroglossia
an abnormally small skull microcephaly
an abnormally small lower jaw micrognathia
abnormally small eyes microphthalmia
abnormally small or malformed ears microtia
an abnormally flat skull base platybasia
fusion of adjoining fingers and/or toes syndactyly
