cell | the basic unit of structure a d function in a living thing. |
cell membrane | the outside boundary of a cell. |
nucleus | the control center that directs the cell's activities and contains the information than determines the cell's form and function. |
cytoplasm | the material within a cell apart from the nucleus. |
tissue | a group of similar cells that perform the same function. |
muscle tissue | enables movement of the body and internal organs. |
nervous tissue | directs and controls the process. |
connective tissue | provides support got your body and connects all its parts |
epithelial tissue | protects the delicate structures that lie beneath it .. |
organ | a structure that is composed of different kinds of tissue. |
organ system | a group of organs that work together to perform a major function. |
homeostasis | the process by which an organism's internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment. |
stress | the reaction of your body to potentially threatening, challenging, or disturbing events. |

ligament | the connective tissue that holds the bones on moveable joints. |

marrow | the connective tissue in between the spaces in bones. |
osteoporosis | a condition in which the body's bones become weak and break easily |

skeletal muscle | muscles attached to the bones of your skeleton and provide the force that moves your bones. |

smooth muscle | the inside of many internal organs |
cardiac muscle | muscle that is found only in your heart |

melanin | a pigment, or colored substance, that gives skin its color. |
dermis | the inner later of the slin |
pore | openings in which perspiration reaches the surface |
follicle | structures in which hairs grow within the dermis |
cancer | a disease in which some cells in the body divide uncontrolably |
