Term | Definition |
Evidence | Observations that make you believe that something is true |
Experiment | The use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis |
Hypothesis | A statement of what you think will happen during an investigation |
Variable | Something that can change in a test |
Control Group | The group that doesn't get the special treatment. |
Data | Information from which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made |
Precision | Is the ability to constantly repeat a measurement |
Accuracy | Is the ability to make a measurement that is as close to the actual value as possible |
Inferance | A conclusion based on observations |
Procedures | Step-by-step instructions for completeting a task |
Observation | Is something you find out about objects. |
Independent Variable | Is one that you can control. |
Dependent Variable | It changes when the independent variable changes, what gets measured, and gives you data. |
Survey | Questions that are answered by people, great for opinion questions. |
Model | Objects or ideas that represent other things. |
Sampling | Examining random individuals from a population. |
Experimental Group | The group that gets the special treatment. |
