Question | Answer |
If you looked at a population, what would be in one? | A population would be classified as the same animals in a group and a population would be somethimg like a pack of wolves. |
What is a Ecological Relationship? | An Ecological Relationship is any close relationship between species. Also there are three different types of ecological relationships commensalism, mutualism, parasitism. |
How do animals and plants get what they need to survive? | Plants and animals get what they need by competition. Competition is when animals and plants battle for food and space, it also limits population growth. |
What does the carrying capacity tell you? | It tells you what the largest number of individuals of one species an ecosystem can support. If the ecosystem can't support it their will be to much competition between populations. |
What are the limiting factors of an ecosystem? | The limiting factors would be the animals in a population dying. |
What is commensalism's role in an environment? | Its' role would be having something like a human help an animal grow in captivity because it on the verge of being extinct. So the animal gets help but the human is not affected by it. |
How does mutualism help the environment? | Because it benefits both organisms, 3 way mutualism appears to be evolved. |
What is parasitism? | Parasitism is a relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is harmed. |
How does predation affect an environment? | It affects the environment because predators are consuming their prey and killing animals for food. This is actually decreasing the population. |
Why are decomposers useful? | Decomposers are useful because, they break down dead plants and animals that you can use in soil. Many decomposers are microscopic. |
What is a scavenger? | A scavenger is something that finds dead plants and animals to eat. They work so that when they finish the decomposers can take over. |
How does cooperation help organisms? | Cooperation helps organisms because, organisms work together toward a common end or purpose. |
What would you call a human helping raise a pelican in captivity? | You would say that it was commensalism. It would be this because the human would not be affected by the pelican being helped. |
How would a scavenger and a decomposer work together? | They would work together by having the scavenger find and eat dead plants or animals. Then the decomposer would go to work and break down all of it. |
Are the ecological relationships helping the environment? | Yes, the relationships are helping the environment. However, the parasitism harms an organism. |
