Term | Definition |
Atmosphere | A thin layer of air that forms a protective covering around the planet. |
Troposphere | The lowest of the earth's atmosphere. And also the layers that we are in and holds weather. |
Stratosphere | The layer above the troposphere. |
Mesosphere | Extends from the top of stratosphere to about 85 km above earth. and many meteors and shooting stars and the temperature is cold. |
Ionosphere | The layer of electrically charged particles. |
Thermosphere | High Temperatures and small amount of oxygen. |
Exosphere | Is the last layer in which after this layer, it is space and it has thin oxygen and it is were are our satellite are. |
Ultra Violet Radiation | The type of energy that comes to the earth from the sun. |
Ozone Layer | It is made of oxygen. |
CFC's | Group of chemical compounds used in refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. That may enter the atmosphere and destroy ozone. |
Air Mass | A body of air with horizontally uniform temperature, humidity, and pressure. |
Front | Is a boundary separating two masses of air of different density. |
Tornado | Violently rotating winds having the appearance an funnel cloud and connects with the ground. |
Hurricane | A storm with a violent wind and a large, swirling, low pressure system. |
Blizzard | A severe snowstorm with high winds and low visibility. |
Meteorologist | A person who studies the whether. |
Station Model | Shows the whether condition at a specific location on earth's surface. |
Isotherm | A line that connects points of equal temperature. |
Isobar | A line drawn to connect points of equal atmospheric pressure. |
Cold Front | Occurs, when colder air advances towards warmer air. |
Warm Font | Form when lighter, warmer air advances over heavier, colder air. |
Occluded Front | Involves three air masses of different temperatures. |
Stationary Front | When a boundary between air masses stops advancing. |
