Term | Definition |
Cell Membrane | Approves what goes into the cell and what doesn't. The term for this is Selectively Permeable. |
Nucleus | Acts like the brain of the cell and stores all your genetic information. |
Nuclear Envelope | Controls what goes into the nucleus |
Nuclear Pore | The holes in the envelope allowing things to go in and out. |
Nucleolus | Contains instructions for making proteins. |
Chromatin | your genetic information or DNA. |
Cytoplasm | A jelly like substance that fills the cell. |
Mitochondria | The powerhouse of the cell. |
Golgi Complex | The UPS of your cell. It packages thing and ships them into the cell. |
Centriole | Aid in cell division |
Micro-tubule | Cellular highway. It helps things get from one place to another. |
Vacuole | A storage unit. |
Lysosome | Janitor of the cell. Eats bad things in the cell and spits it out outside the cell. |
Microfilament | Gives structure to the cell. |
Ribosome | Make amino acids. |
Endoplasmic Reticulum | Ttwo kinds: Rough and smooth. Rough has ribosomes stuck to it and makes proteins from amino acids. Smooth does not have ribosomes and makes fats. |
