Term | Definition |
Discuss | talk about (something) with another person or group of people. |
Secondary | coming after, less important than, or resulting from someone or something else that is primary. |
Standing | position, status, or reputation. |
Majority | the number by which the votes for one party or candidate exceed those of the next in rank. |
Amendable | capable of being corrected by additions |
Chairperson | a chairman or chairwoman (used as a neutral alternative). |
Germane | relevant to a subject under consideration |
Primary | of chief importance; principal. |
Committee | a group of people appointed for a specific function, typically consisting of members of a larger group |
Precedence | the condition of being considered more important than someone or something else; priority in importance, order, or rank. |
Decorum | behavior in keeping with good taste and propriety. |
Main Motion | is a motion that brings business before the assembly |
General Consent | is a situation in which no one present objects to a proposal |
Adjourned Meeting | A meeting which is a continuation of a preceding meeting. Sometimes called a "continued meeting." |

Vote | a formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action, expressed typically through a ballot or a show of hands or by voice |
Out of order | unacceptable or wrong. |
Poise | graceful and elegant bearing in a person |
Violation | break or fail to comply with (a rule or formal agreement). |
Tie | connect; link. |
Vote by Voice | a parliamentary vote taken by calling for ayes and noes and estimating which response is stronger |
