constellation | a group of stars forming a reconizable pattern |
atmisphere | the envelope of gasses surrounding the Earth or another planet |
comet | an objet in space made of ice and dust, and near the Sun it forms a tail of gas and dust |
lunar eclipse | an eclipse in which the moon appears darkened as it passes through the Earth's shadow |
solar eclipse | an eclpise in which the Sun is obscurbed by the moon |
elliptical | using or involving ellipsis |
galaxy | a system of millions or billions of stars, planets, dust, and other objects |
solstice | either 2 times a year, the summer solstice and the winter solstice, when the sun reaches it's highest or lowest piont in the sky at noon |
asteroid | a small rocky body orbiting the Sun |
satellite | an artificial body placed in orbit around planets and moons to colect information |
