Family | Next larger taxon in biological classification system, consists of a group of similar genera |

Class | Taxon of similar orders |
Phylum | Taxon of similar classes |
Division | What taxon plants use instead of phylum |
Archaebacteria | Prokaryotes (cell without nucleus which has DNA) that live in harsh areas like swamps usually oxygen free and produce methane |
Eubacteria | Prokaryotes with strong cell walls (strep throat) |
Protists | Eukaryotes (cell with nucleus) that lack complex organ systems and live in wet areas |
Fungi | Uni/multicellular eukaryotes that absorbs nutrients from organic matter |
Plants | Multicellular, photosynthetic, eukaryotic organisms (chloroplasts and cell walls made of a woody substance called cellulose) |
Animals | Multicellular heterotrophs with a developed nervous system and do not have cell walls and multiple feeding |
