hypothesis | a statement of what you think will happen during an investigation |
observation | you find out about objects events or living things using your senses |
experiment | the use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis |
variable | something that can change in a test |
control group | the group that does not get the special treatment |
procedures | step-by-step instructions for completing a task |
model | objects or ideas that represent other things |
sampling | examining random indivituals from a population |
independent variable | the variable that you control |
dependent variable | what gets measured changes when independent changes |
experimental group | gets the special treatment |
surveys | questions that are answered by people good for opinions |
data | information from which a conclusion can be made |
evidence | observations you make when you think something is true |
inference | a conclusion based on an observation |
accuracy | a score as close to the real thing as possible |
precision | constantly repeting an experiment |
