stomach | a stack-like muscle organ that is attached to the esophagus. Food mixes with acid, is squeezed, and breaks down into a thick liquid in the stomach |

small intestine | a long, folded tube inside the body attached to the stomach, where nutrients from food are absorbed. |
saliva | a slippery liquid that makes food easy to swallow and helps break the food down. |
large intestines | the tube after the small intestines, where liquid is absorbed. |
