Anacusis | complete hearing loss. |
Bias | formation of an opinion without foundation or reason; prejudice. |
Clarification | explanation; removal of confusion or uncertainty. |
Cultures | a laboratory process where by microorganisms are grown in a special medium often for the purpose of identifying a causative agent in an infectious disease. |
Demeanor | the way a person look, behaves, and conducts him/herself. |
Discrimination | making a difference in favor or against someone. |
Dysphasia | difficulty speaking. |
Dysphonia | impairment of voice; hoarseness. |
Feedback | in communication, the response to input from another. |
Grief | great sadness caused by loss. |
Messages | words sent from one person to another; information sent through spoken, written, or body language. |
Mourning | to demonstrate signs of grief; grieving. |
Nonlanguage | not expressed in spoken language. ex: laughing, crying, sighing. |

Presbycusis | loss of hearing associated with aging. |
Reflecting | repeat what one heard using open-ended questions. |
Sterotyping | to play in a fixed mild, without consideration of differences. |
Summarizing | briefly reviewing the information discussed to determine the patients comprehension. |
Therapeutic | having t do with treating or curing disease; curative. |
