Value of assessment depends on:Reliability- The degree to which a measurement is consisted. Validity-The degree to which a tech. measures what it is designed to measure. Standardization- Application of certain standards to ensure consistency across different measurements.
Classification System:A system of distinct categories, indicators, and nomenclature for different pattens of behavior, thought processes, and emotional disturbances.
Axis I:Clinical syndromes and other conditions that may be a focus of clinical attention.
Axis II:Personality disorders and mental retardation
Axis III:General medical conditions
Axis IV:Psychosocial and Environmental Problems (Death of a family member, social isolation, homelessness, extreme poverty, etc.)
Axis V:Global assessment of functioning
