Charge slip, encounter form, superbill- | list the procedures with repective codes that are appropriate or most frequently performed in the office |
clustering- | Scheduling pt.'s for specific type of procedures at specific times |
Wave- | Pt.'s are scheduled during the first 30 minutes of each hour, leaving the last 30 minutes for same-day appointments |
Single-booking- | a single pt. is booked for a specific amout of time. Usually will be a long appointment |
Matrix- | Blocking off time slots in a paper schedule with a x or having specified time periods automatically blocked |
Streaming- | Appointments are scheduled for a particular amount of time based on pt. need. it is designed to keep a continuous flow of pt.'s coming through the office |
Modified wave- | Scheduled the same as wave but with the exception of scheduling pt.'s in the last 30 minutes at 10-20 min intervals. |
Flex time- | time slots that are blocked off, which can be used to return pt. phone calls |
Double-booking- | The same appointment time is given to two or more pt.'s. |
Open hours- | No scheduled appointment. Pt.'s sign in upon arrival and are seen by the provider in that order |
Unstructured- | without specific arrangement |
Obliterate- | to erase or be corrected with fluid |
No show- | pt. fails to present for examination without giving the provder advance notice |
Referral- | sending a pt. to a provder of a different specialty for treatment beyond the scope of practice for the intial practitioner |
Utilization- | to put to profitable use |
Audit trail- | any changes due to an appointment are stored |
