What are Adaptations? | An inherited trait in a species that gives them an advantage in their environment. |
What is Overproduction? | When an organism produces more offspring than the environment can support. |
What is Variation? | Differences in traits. Each offspring causes a slight change in the species it belongs to. |

Why are organisms classified? | It allows scientists to keep track of 3 to 10 million different species on planet earth. |
What is classification? | Grouping organisms based on similarities and differences in physical traits, genetic material, and types of cells. |
What are the 8 levels of classification? | Most General: 1. Domain 2. Kingdom 3. Phylum 4. Class 5. Order 6. Family 7. Genus 8. Species: Most Specific |
What are the 6 Kingdoms? | 1. Bacteria 2. Archaea 3. Animalia 4. Plantae 5. Fungi 6. Protista |
How are Adaptations different from Variations? | Adaptations= Advantage Variations= Change |
What are 3 examples of Fungi? | Mushrooms, molds, and yeasts |
