Term | Definition |
Red Blood Cells | move oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. |
T Cells | Commando units of the immune system. They can defeat invaders that leave macrophages and neutrophils confused and helpless. |
Neutrophils | are fast moving immune cells and are the front line soldiers of the immune system. When alerted they rush to the side of the battle in huge numbers. Where they each kill several bacteria before dying themselves. |
Monocytes | Are versatile and powerful immune system cells. Constantly on patrol they can find and kill many different kinds of bacteria without any help. They are usually the first responders to any invasion. |
B Cells | Commando units of the immune system. They can defeat invaders that leave macrophages and neutrophils confused and helpless. |
