Natural | An explanation that uses science/scientific reasoning to explain a phenomenon. |
Supernatural | An Explanation the uses non-scientific reasoning to explain a phenomenon. |
Pseudoscience | A false science - When something is presented as science but cannot be proven or disproven. |
Bias | When your experiences, ideas or opinions affect the outcome of your scientific experiments. |
False Assumption | Drawing an incorrect conclusion before having all of the information. |
Controversy | Disagreement in science. |
Skepticism | Questioning and thinking carefully before drawing conclusions. |
Science | A systematic way of making observations, collecting evidence and drawing conclusions. |
Hypothesis | prediction based on observations and research |
Independent Variable | the variable that is changed on purpose |
Dependent Variable | the responding variable, the variable that is being measured, counted or observed |
Constants | all the things that must remain the same to get reliable |
results | The data collected during an experiment |
Control Group | the level of independent variable that is used to compare |
Trials | the number of times the experiment is repeated for one level of the independent variable |
Conclusion | a summary of the data |
