Question | Answer |
System | A group of objects working together as a whole. |
Dependent Variable | The responding variable. The thing in your experiment that you are observing or measuring. |
Controlled Experiment | An experiment in which ONE and only ONE variable is changed. |
Cycle | Any motion or actvity that repeats itself. |
Variable | Anything that you can change in an experiment that might affect the outcome. |
Inference | A guess based on limited information. |
Standard | The baseline used in a controlled experiment, BEFORE changing any variables that you use to tell if a variable effected the outcome. |
Independent Variable | The thing in your experiment that you are changing. The manipulated variable. |
Control variables | The things in your experiment that stay the same. |
Procedure | A logical list of steps to take in your experiment. |
Conclusion | A wrap up of your experiment using the data you gathered to support your argument. Tells whether your hypothesis was correct or incorrect. |
