| Solvent/Solubility test | test to identify if the fiber dissolves in a certain solvent, usually use these solvents: HCL, NaOH, Bleach, Acetone, Dry-cleaning solvent

| Stain test | a test to see if blood stains the cloth, if the blood will bead off, and if it is another substance.

| Microscopic test | a test to see what you can see using the microscope; weave, braids, folds, twists, translucency, fraying, etc.

| Tape method | using tape to collect fiber evidence

| Sweeping/vacuuming method | uses a vacuum to collect fiber evidence, however it collects all the other debris as well.
