Burn test   burning a fiber can give you hints on its origin; characteristic odors, residues, beading, and smoke/smolder

Solvent/Solubility test   test to identify if the fiber dissolves in a certain solvent, usually use these solvents: HCL, NaOH, Bleach, Acetone, Dry-cleaning solvent

Stain test   a test to see if blood stains the cloth, if the blood will bead off, and if it is another substance.

Microscopic test   a test to see what you can see using the microscope; weave, braids, folds, twists, translucency, fraying, etc.

Tape method   using tape to collect fiber evidence

Sweeping/vacuuming method   uses a vacuum to collect fiber evidence, however it collects all the other debris as well.
