cerebrum | The largest part of the brain, This is separated into two pairs called the Cerebral hemispheres. All conscious activities controlled by this.

Brain stem | sit mostly inside the brain. At the base it turns into the spinal cord. This is made up of three parts:The medulla, the pons and the midbrain.

Medulla | Found at the bottom of brain stem, controls automatic functions such as respiration and digestive system.

Pons | assists in automatic functions, such as breathing also controls sleep and arousal.

||||
Midbrain | Contains areas that receive and process sensory information such as movement and vision.

|
||||
Thalamus | processes and carries messages for sensory information sent from ears,nose, eyes and skin to the cortex.

Hypothalamus | Primarily responsible for homeostasis.
🗑
|
||||
Homeostasis | is the maintenance of a constant body condition, such as maintaining a constant heart rate, body temp and sleeping patter and many other things. The Hypothalamus is responsible for this.

Pituitary gland | Controls hormone production, is the size of a pea and sits under the hypothalamus.

||||
Frontal lobes | located at the front of the brain, its functional are emotions, reasoning, movement and problem solving.

Parietal lobe | behind frontal lobe, manages perception of senses, including taste, pain pressure, temperature and touch.

temporal lobe | located in the region near your ears. It is concerned with recognition of sounds and smells.

||||
Occipital lobe | very back of the brain, responsible for various aspects of vision.
