Delta | Land that builds up at a river's mouth from sand and sediment carried down by the river's flow. (The mouth of the river).

City | A human made feature where large numbers of people live and work. Cities grow from smaller villages and towns and offer: protection, entertainment, places to buy goods, and a structured government.

Village | A small living center with homes, but without the services of a city.

Glaciers | Large ice flows which move slowly from higher to lower ground, found in cold areas of the world.

Plateau | A large mountain-like area with a flat top.

Mesa | A single mountain with a flat top (Mesas are smaller than plateaus).

Volcanoes | Mountains which can erupt, spewing molten rock and ash.

Valley | A lowland area formed by a river and surrounded by higher ground.

Oasis | A fertile spot in the desert where there is water and vegetation (plants).

Desert | A dry barren region that is usually sandy and without trees.

Forest | A large land area covered with trees.
🗑

Plain | A large open area, usually without any trees.
