Pilgrims   Were a Separatist group, that King James attacked them for rejecting England's offical chruch.

Mayflower Compact.   The men aboard the Mayflower signed an agreement called the Mayflower Compant. In it, they vowed to obey laws agreed upon for the good of the colony.

Puritans   Unlike the Separatists, who wanted to break away from the Church of England, the Puritans wanted to reform, or "purify", its pratices.

Great Migration   Many thousands of Puritans left their homeland to found new settlements around the world.

Fundamental Orders of Connecticut   The Fundamental Orders extended voting rights to non-church memebers and limited the power of the governor.

Roger Williams   Roger Williams was a minister in Salem, Massachusetts, who founded the first Baptist church in America.

Anne Hutchinson   Anne believed that a person could worship God without the help of a church, minister, or Bible.
